Rajasthan Tourism announces Jaipur International Travel Bazaar in April 2009 :
Buoyant with the success of the first Great India Travel Bazaar (GITBA) in April this year, Rajasthan Tourism announced the second edition of the international travel mart at the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Travel Mart which concluded in Hyderabad on September 19, 2008. The GITBA 2009 will be held in Jaipur from April 19 to 21. Mira Mehrishi, Principal Secretary, Rajasthan Tourism informed that the international mart will be jointly organised by the State Department of Tourism and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) .
“A Business to Business (B2B) event – GITBA will be an attempt to reinforce India as a world-class tourism destination,” said Mehrishi. Apart from having 200 booths to showcase and market the varied tourism products of India, there will be innumerable buyer-seller meetings spread over the three-day event. Dr Gyan Prakash, Director, FICCI (Rajasthan) said that there will be structured interactive sessions spread over three days. Over 150 key foreign tour operators and travel writers from all over the world are expected to attend.
The GITBA 2008 attracted as many as 163 foreign tour operators and travel writers from 42 countries across the world who assembled in Jaipur for B2B interaction.
