The ceremony was held at the Ashoka Hotel Convention Centre, New Delhi . The award was received by Usha Punia, Minister of State for Tourism, Art and Culture (Rajasthan) from Mani Shankar Aiyar ,Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region. The Union Minister of Tourism and Culture, Ambika Soni was also present on the occasion.

According to Jagdeep Singh, Media Spokesperson, Department of Tourism, Rajasthan, the conservation work for Amber Palace is already in progress. The Department of Archaeology and Museum is carrying out restoration and conservation of Amber Palace under the patronage of Amber Development and Management Authority. More than 50 monuments throughout Rajasthan have been identified for restoration work under the 12th finance commission.

To preserve the rich heritage, Government of Rajasthan has called upon NRIs, Non-resident Rajasthanis, individuals, organisations and corporate houses to sponsor the conservation works of fragile monuments through Adopt- a-Monument scheme. It calls for public-private-participation for preserving rich heritage. The scheme envisages adoption of a monument by any person with a view to restoring and thereafter maintaining it for a period of ten years in accordance with a conservation plan drawn by the Department of Art and Culture.

Under the scheme, the state government will create a heritage fund, which will finance different conservation projects. Both individuals and business houses have been asked to contribute to support the endeavours of the state. Rajasthan government will offer an exceptional publicity mileage to the donors, by advertising their contribution on their website. Corporate houses too can project their donations in their advertisements.
